A fall highlight of living on the North Shore is watching salmon
conquer the mountains and make their way up stream. Our teacher Nicola
tries to bring in a salmon for the children to explore and this year we
were lucky to have to giant salmon donated to the school so both
classes could enjoy the experience.
Here is the 4’s class getting up close with the salmon. They watched a
dissection and were able to compare what they saw to a diagram. They were
then able to touch them specimen for a full experience. Some of the children
were amazingly focused on the activity spending close to an hour with the fish.
