November Book Club

With more cool, rainy days ahead, you’re going to want to stock up on some good books this month. Along with all the little critters getting ready for winter, November brings with it celebrations of remembrance and kindness. This month’s book picks touch on all of those themes:

This book brings together all those cozy November feels and fall vibes. Enjoy the beautiful illustrations and follow along with this beautifully written story as animals prepare for winter and family and friends gather together.

2. What is Peace, by Wallace Edwards

3. Sidewalk Flowers, by JonArno Lawson

This picture book tells the story through beautiful illustrations of a parent and child who go for a walk and collect flowers along the way. A winner of the Governor General’s Award, Sidewalk Flowers touches on Remembrance day themes such as everyday beauty and paying tribute what’s around you.

4. Everybody’s Welcome, by Patricia Hegarty

Help celebrate World Kindness Day on November 13 by reading books that demonstrate great acts of kindness. Set in the forest and featuring adorable woodland critters, Everybody’s Welcome is a tale about opening your door to those in need.

5. K is for Kindness, by Jodie Shepherd

Not only does November celebrate World Kindness Day, but November 10 is also Sesame Street Day! In this book, Elmo helps out the Sesame Street cast of characters and learns what it means to be kind.
